                       Skilled Worker Immigration

The Skilled worker comprises the main body of Canadian immigrants. In 2006,
immigrants under the skilled worker category, from both federal and provincial
programs, accounted for approximately 50% of all immigrants into Canada.
Skilled workers have proven to be an important source of the Canadian labor
market. Middle and lower level skilled workers are also welcome and valued for
their trade and labour skills.

Skilled workers category covers people who have a special skill and work
experience. Many people who work in some professions are skilled and do not
realise that they could apply under the skilled worker category.

The following are a list of the various ways to apply for Canadian Permanent
Residency:

Federal Skilled Worker - Skilled workers are selected as permanent residents
based on their education, work experience, knowledge of English and/or
economically established in Canada.

BC Provincial Nominee Program - Individuals nominated by the Province of
B.C., together with their spouse and dependent children, are eligible to apply
for a permanent resident visa from Citizenship and Immigration Canada in the
Provincial Nominee Class.

Canadian Experience Class - If you are a temporary foreign worker or a foreign
student who graduated in Canada, you often have the qualities to make a
successful transition from temporary to permanent residence. You are familiar
with Canadian society and can contribute to the Canadian economy. You
should have knowledge of English or French and qualifying work experience.
